Soil Stabilisation speeds up construction at Silverstone

Beach Soil Stabilisation, a Britpave Best Practice member, completed soil stabilisation works on the new Pit Lane, track modifications, Grandstand and gravel traps at Silverstone Race Circuit. This phase of the work commenced in December 2009 and was completed in June 2010. This enabled the Main Contractor, Buckingham Group Contracting to work through the worst winter on record in order to meet the March testing and June Grand Prix deadlines. Because of the short timescale and inflexible deadlines, lime was used to defrost and stabilise ground that would otherwise have had to wait for better weather.

Further stabilisation work has commenced on Caravan parks and Grandstand areas, with a significant future soil stabilisation work programme
