Britpave: The British In-Situ Concrete Paving Association

The UK Quality Ash Association (UKQAA) represents the producers and users of coal-fired power station ash and biomass ash products.

Launched in 1997, we’re a membership body that represents everyone involved in the production and use of coal ash in the UK particularly at BSI and CEN committees. We offer technical guidance and support and work with a range of organisations to promote and encourage the beneficial use of this unique material throughout the construction and engineering sectors.

The UKQAA has now extended its membership to include organisations producing and using biomass ash and biomass ash-based products.

Research is a core part of our activity and we’ve carried out a wide range of projects to support the use of coal ash products in the UK and across Europe. Our research is fundamental to the organisation and is vital for our membership and education programme.

Anyone who has an interest in coal and biomass ash and products derived from these materials – from producers to specifiers, hauliers, suppliers, contractors and academic institutions – is welcome to join the UKQAA.
